just wanted to tell stephen and other members hello. im an amateur artist living and working in louisiana. i just discovered this website. its wonderfully nostalgic for me because i grew up reading galaxy magazine, whispers, science fiction review, weirdbook etc. where many of his paintings and drawings appeared. I particularly recall the Galaxy work and the covers for SF Review. In some ways those were great times for SF/Fantasy and S&S in the 70's and early 80's. there were two artists for me that really captured the female form in fantasy and science fiction settings: Frazetta and Fabian. And as a young man that is a big appeal. of course i grew to appreciate the intricate ink work obvious in their work as i grew as an artist. They were a gateway of sorts to my finding other great artists like Whelan, Stout, Williamson, St. John, Vess and alot more. If any other members want to talk art etc. just let me know. The latest thing for me is reading Swords and Dark Magic which is a recent anthology of new (new!) sword and sorcery stories. The only sad thing is that the great Fritz Leiber (who Stephen has illlustrated a number of times im sure) is not around to contribute a story. But the obvious tribute in the title is a nice touch.
